While working at Takeda, I got the opportunity to learn and understand how a pharmaceutical microbiology lab works. My daily routine includes:
performing environmental monitoring of the different grades of cleanrooms
plate readings on different agar plates
conducting bioburden tests on samples
keeping track of supplies in the laboratory & cold room
maintaining the cleanliness of the lab
working cross-functionally with the manufacturing team
reviewing data following GDP guidelines, and SOP
practicing aseptic techniques
What is working in Takeda Microbiology Lab like?
Micro lab at Takeda is a fast-paced environment that requires teamwork, quick decision-making, and a flexible schedule. Our daily tasks will never be the same due to unexpected events that can happen throughout the day. Our priorities are constantly changing based on the manufacturing teams' needs, as the lab provides essential services to allow production to take place. Throughout my time working at the lab, I had the chance to assist my team by stepping up to take on specific tasks that required immediate action. I also learned to prioritize different responsibilities based on the importance of unexpected events that might take place.
